Update - 6 August 2009

BAG NEWS ….

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE!! …… The BAG Annual Meeting will be now be held on Friday 21 August 2009, 6.00 pm, at the Berkeley Restaurant, Cambridge Street, Mitchell. This is a week later than previously advised. Following the members’ meeting, a Business & Community Networking Dinner will be held, commencing at 6.45 pm. All community members are invited to attend the networking dinner to help us celebrate our achievements for the past year and to encourage ideas and networking so that BAG may continue to develop projects identified by the community as providing benefits and increasing the Booringa lifestyle.

AIPF Expo – Last week I attended an Australian Institute of Professional Facilitators Expo at the Gold Coast. This Expo was beneficial in providing some ideas to use in facilitation, marketing and organisational development. I received some very helpful advice and tools to assist with developing and delivering training. Most importantly, it was an opportunity to network and get the name and activities of BAG out to more people further afield.

Community Workshops – The design of these workshops on project management, time management, communication, leadership and meeting procedures is nearing completion. Dates and times will be advertised very soon!

BAG PROJECT UPDATES ………

Computer Fix It Person - Booringa Action Group is seriously looking into establishing a business involving the repair and unscrambling of computers – an IT Fix It person. This could also include Workshops designed to help confused amateur operators to get satisfying results from their equipment. So, we are asking for an expression of interest in this service and any ideas as to how you would like to see it operate. Also, we would like to know what other services you would appreciate having available in Mitchell – just let us know and we will look into it because you never know your luck! Think how much easier and less time and fuel consuming it would be not to have to travel to Roma, Toowoomba or Brisbane to get these jobs done.

COMMUNITY NEWS …….

The Maranoa Arts Gateway Tea Cosy competition will be on show for all of this month, go along to the craft shop and be the judge of the best tea cosy in the Maranoa!

Until next time! :-)

Cheers,
Sharyn.
